New Bible translation is bestseller in Norway

Published last October, a new Norwegian translation of The Bible has been one of the countries’ top bestsellers. Having sold 150,000 copies in the last 14 months, by far surpassing the publishers’ estimate of 25,000 sales, the surprise popularity of the new translation is credited to the fact that the Norwegian Bible Society worked with Hebrew and Greek experts on the original text. They also involved literary writers to perfect it.

  1. This is interesting news. The New World Translation, which I read, has been rendered from the Original languages since 1961, with revisions in 1981, and 1984 in many languages with probably close to 125,000,000 copies printed to date. These are freely distributed and the printing is supported by voluntary donations from around the world.
