Showcase: Irina Pandele

headerThis week’s featured artist is Irina Pandele, who has this to say about her art:

Fashion lover, currently studying architecture in Bucharest, Romania.

I’ve been experimenting with different mediums and subjects ever since I can  remember and have always tried to incorporate new techniques into my work. I am permanently looking for ways to grow as an artist and I am passionate about what I do.

Proud to be Romanian, I’ve chosen our architecture university course over  fashion studies in another country but I want to pursue my dream of becoming a fashion illustrator.

For my illustrations I use watercolor, markers, ink and graphite. In my opinion fashion is beauty. It’s not just pretty clothes and jewelry, it’s a lifestyle, a way of being. I want my work to convey that there is beauty even in the simplest of things.

I am inspired by everything around me:  a photograph, a song I hear, someone walking by or something I see in a shop. Some of my works are based on personal experiences or memories and those are the ones that I am very fond of. Everything that I have created represents me and my preferences  at certain times and I hope my development as a person will influence my art to grow into something better as the days go by.”
